Overview
In this role you will help Yorkshire Water deliver its Capital Programme by leading commercial activities across schemes. You will work within the Capital Commercial Services team to optimize contract performance, manage costs, and drive commercial controls. You’ll engage with partners and stakeholders to secure value and reduce risk across multi-party projects. Responsibilities
- Develop procurement and contract strategies and implement them
- Manage cost assurance pre- and post-contract
- Design and enforce key commercial controls
- Support negotiations with partners and suppliers
- Evaluate commercial risks and provide guidance on risk management
- Administer NEC contracts and process Applications for Payments
- Ensure change control and cost control across schemes
- Support successful completion of capital projects
- Liaise with stakeholders and supply chain to optimise performance
- Promote commercial behaviours suitable for a multi-party collaborative enterprise
Key requirements
- Knowledge of administration of construction contracts
- Ability to identify, quantify and control commercial risks
- Knowledge of NEC contracts, contract management practices and systems
- Ability to guide decision-makers on commercial outcomes benefiting Capital Delivery
- Experience in supplier relationship management
- Experience or knowledge of behavioural management techniques and tools
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience in water/utilities or broader infrastructure sector
