Overview

As a Commercial Legal Counsel in the Office of General Counsel, you will draft and negotiate key commercial contracts for the firm and its clients, including master services and public-sector agreements. You’ll advise on agreements with suppliers, subcontractors, and third parties, ensuring risks are identified and mitigated. You’ll work with risk, client-facing partners, and service lines, and you’ll help protect the firm while enabling excellent client service. The role offers cross-functional collaboration, knowledge sharing, and opportunities to leverage AI tools. This is a chance to shape commercial practice within a leading professional services firm.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate commercial contracts with clients (master services agreements, public-sector frameworks)
  • Draft and negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and third parties (collaboration, reseller, sponsorship)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality and Risk teams, client-facing partners and staff on legal issues across service lines
  • Advise on a range of commercial contracting issues (international contracts, data-sharing, secondment, software supply)
  • Monitor contracting and professional liability law, share knowledge, deliver training, and leverage AI tools in work
  • Protect the firm while enabling high-quality client service

Key requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with commercial contracting experience
  • Understanding of professional services risk management
  • Pragmatic, solutions-based approach
  • Self-starting with the ability to manage conflicting demands
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including drafting contractual terms
  • Knowledge of adjacent areas of law such as data protection and intellectual property
