Overview

In this Field Servicing Engineer role you’ll deliver proactive site-based maintenance for UK Forks plant machinery, helping maximise reliability and lifespan of critical equipment. You will work closely with the service desk to prioritise preventative work, perform on-site inspections, and handle basic repairs when needed. The role involves travel and occasional overnight stays to support training and field service needs. You’ll be part of a team that aims for consistent high standards and minimal downtime for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out site service and inspection on UK Forks products and attachments to manufacturers’ standards
  • Perform basic on-site machinery repairs that are health and safety critical
  • Maintain equipment to UK Forks and manufacturer specifications to high standards
  • Manage time effectively to complete planned work within allocated time
  • Monitor and replenish stock/parts to support planned maintenance
  • Install parts as instructed for planned servicing and maintenance
  • Be flexible to work extra hours and travel as required, including overnight stays for training or field support
  • Report daily to service desk and area controller, using PDA/Tablet to capture data including photos
  • Handle waste to ensure compliant disposal at UK Forks depots
  • Contribute to smooth operations by undertaking other duties within competence when requested

Key requirements

  • Basic mechanical and electrical engineering skills related to UK Forks products
  • Ability to service and maintain UK Forks products and attachments
  • Carry out vehicle checks to identify potential failures or hazards
  • Stock and parts management
  • Valid driving licence
  • Correct use of PDA/Tablet
  • Self-motivated with initiative
  • Willingness to travel for training or field support (including overnight stays)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritise workload
