Overview

As CTO and co-founder, you own the technical direction for Malcolm’s multi-insurer platform and agent-first orchestration engine. You’ll shape a scalable, production-ready infrastructure that enables deterministic, compliant LLM-driven conversations between AI agents and insurer APIs. You’ll lead a small engineering team and partner with the CEO on product, commercial strategy, and fundraising. This role sits at the intersection of technology and business, with a clear pathway to own the technical vision as the company grows.

Responsibilities

• Define the architecture of a multi-class, multi-insurer platform across all layers
• Lead the build of the agent-first orchestration engine (conversational layer)
• Grow and lead the engineering team (1-3 engineers) with strategic hiring
• Collaborate with insurer partners on integrations and commercial context
• Partner with the CEO on product strategy and fundraising narrative

• Built and shipped production systems with clear architectural opinions
• Able to write code and lead a team to build better code than you
• Excited by the challenge of deterministic, compliant LLM-led conversational flows in regulated finance
• Willing to be London-based or relocate
• Comfortable with early-stage ambiguity and moving fast without compromising compliance
