Overview
In this role you assess fire safety across residential and commercial buildings in London and the South East, delivering EWS1 surveys, cladding and façades reviews, and condition surveys. You will support and mentor junior surveyors, share knowledge with the team, and manage client-facing activities within a safety-focused consultancy. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to apply regulatory guidance and provide strategic fire safety advice. This opportunity lets you influence risk management and design decisions at scale within an award-winning firm.

Responsibilities
- Mentor Fire Surveyors and Junior Surveyors
- Provide technical fire safety advice to clients (including EWS1 surveys)
- Update knowledge base and share latest guidance
- Project resource management and reviewing site reports
- Client management and liaison with project managers to meet contractual requirements
- Consider commercial risk and health, safety and wellbeing of team members
- Keep up to date with latest guidance and distribute knowledge across the team
Key requirements
- 10+ years in construction with 2+ years as a Surveyor OR 7+ years as Building Control Surveyor
- Experience in fire stopping/dry lining
- MRICS, MCABE, MIFIREE, MCIOB or working towards
- Enhanced understanding of fire safety design and guidance for different buildings
- Good knowledge of regulatory processes
- Ability to mentor/manage junior staff
- Understanding of building pathology, construction typology and materials
- Experience with cladding & façades / EWS1
- UK Driving Licence and own vehicle
