Business Analyst – Electronic Trading

Overview

In this role you will drive requirements and align stakeholders to deliver front-office electronic trading solutions. You will gather business needs, engage with exchanges and venues, and shape solution behavior and messaging formats. You’ll validate requirements across business, development and QA teams to ensure a shared understanding. The position sits within a high-profile, London-based firm that advises on low-latency trading environments across Fixed Income, Equities and FX, offering impactful client-facing work and potential equity opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead stakeholders to achieve program goals
• Active requirement gathering through sessions/workshops
• Coordinate with Exchanges/Trading Venues to capture market models
• Define and prioritise solution behavior to meet business requirements
• Design and propose messaging protocol formats
• Validate requirements with client business analysts, development and QA teams

Key requirements

• 4-8 years’ experience in buy-side, sell-side, vendor or ECN
• Experience across trading lifecycle: risk management, price formation, tiering/distribution, execution, STP
• Strong background in software development projects, especially Trading & Front Office applications
• Experience in EMS/OMS BA
• Knowledge of FIX Messaging Protocol
• Understanding of OTC markets and market models
• Able to work with geographically dispersed teams
• Knowledge of common Market Data & Trading protocols
• Structured problem-solving approach
