Overview
In this role you will drive the continuous delivery of in-house software within the Performance Group to support agile, high-quality solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to prioritise requirements, shape software architecture, and mentor engineers, contributing to robust, maintainable systems. The position emphasises collaboration with IT, third-party vendors, and DevOps improvements to accelerate delivery. You’ll apply a modern .NET stack to complex data and client solutions, with a clear focus on impact and timely delivery. Responsibilities
- Promote teamwork and effective communications across all departments
- Develop modern database, service layer, and client applications using .NET technologies
- Conduct code reviews and coach software team members
- Prioritise requirements with Head of Software Engineering
- Ensure project delivery on schedule and flag potential delays
- Mentor and develop engineers within the Software Group
- Integrate with third party vendors as required
- Propose and maintain evolving software architecture
- Ensure code clarity, robustness, and maintainability
- Collaborate with IT to enhance version control, CI, and testing processes
- Improve the DevOps environment to increase delivery rate of quality products
- Keep abreast of new techniques, languages, and tools
- Respond promptly to user support requests
- Provide on-call support on a rotational basis
- Adhere to engineering and business processes and safety regulations
Key requirements
- Experience in developing complex data management and database storage solutions
- Experience with .Net technologies and associated languages
- C#, .NET, WPF, and SQL required
- Knowledge of JavaScript, Python, Blazor advantageous
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform well under stress and tight deadlines
- Team player with collaboration across all levels
- Relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another STEM field with substantial software development experience
