Overview

You will own and improve the on-premises build, packaging, artefact and deployment toolchain within a large financial group. You’ll shape secure, repeatable, auditable CI/CD pipelines and drive secure coding practices across development teams. The role combines hands-on C#/.NET development with platform engineering, migration of legacy tooling to Octopus Deploy, and collaboration with Cyber Security and Risk teams in a regulated environment. This is a hands-on, impact-focused opportunity to modernize deployment practices at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer, administer and support the on-premises build, packaging, artefact and deployment toolchain
  • Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and standard templates across Windows and Linux
  • Write, review and troubleshoot C#/.NET code behind internal deployment integrations, APIs and automation tooling
  • Diagnose complex build and deployment failures across code, dependencies, build agents and artefact repositories
  • Migrate applications from legacy tooling onto Octopus Deploy
  • Define and embed pipeline security controls (SAST, SCA, secrets detection, artefact scanning)
  • Manage software supply-chain controls including repositories, open-source governance and SBOM
  • Integrate deployment automation with change and release management including audit evidence
  • Collaborate with Cyber Security, Risk and Development teams to onboard applications and remediate vulnerabilities
  • Support platform upgrades, patching, resilience, DR, monitoring and incident response

Key requirements

  • Strong C# development skills with solid .NET knowledge
  • Experience with Visual Studio, MSBuild, NuGet, IIS, Windows services and REST APIs
  • Hands-on experience with Octopus Deploy, TeamCity, GitHub Enterprise, JFrog Artifactory or JFrog Xray (two of them)
  • PowerShell proficiency; Bash/shell scripting
  • Good Git workflows, artefact repositories, package versioning and environment promotion
  • Experience implementing secure coding controls (SAST, SCA, secrets detection)
  • Windows Server on-prem hosting; basic Linux deployment knowledge; SQL Server deployment (DACPAC)
  • Experience in formal change, incident and release management in regulated environments
  • Desirable: ASP.NET/ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, NUnit/xUnit, ServiceNow integration, Terraform, Docker/Kubernetes, OWASP, SBOM standards, CyberArk
