Director – Executive Director, PK/PD & Pharmacometrics (Level based on experience)

Overview

As Director – Executive Director, PK/PD & Pharmacometrics, you provide scientific leadership in PK/PD and quantitative pharmacology to drive model-based decisions across Lilly’s portfolio. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to select targets, molecules, doses, and patient populations, shaping development strategy. You’ll lead exploratory MIDD and PK/PD analyses across development stages, and contribute to regulatory documents and external scientific visibility. Responsibilities

• Provide PK/PD and quantitative clinical pharmacology leadership to project teams to support development decisions
• Hands-on exploratory MIDD, PK/PD analyses across development stages
• Anticipate and address high-level development challenges with data-driven solutions
• Lead PK/PD components of program plans and integrate quantitative methods into discovery and development
• Prepare and interpret Phase I–III study protocols, analysis plans, and regulatory documents across geographies
• Communicate quantitative data clearly and advocate for model-based decisions with stakeholders
• Coach and mentor scientists within the department; collaborate with academia
• Represent group externally through publications and leadership in scientific organizations

Key requirements

• PhD in a relevant discipline; at least 8 years in PK/PD or Clinical Pharmacology
• Thorough understanding of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacometrics, and clinical pharmacology principles
• Strong track record of cross-functional collaboration and communicating quantitative concepts to non-quantitative audiences
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident in stakeholder engagement
• Experience with regulatory interactions (FDA, EMA, PMDA, or other agencies) preferred
