Overview

In this role you will join a top-tier Professional & Financial Risks team in Bristol to handle professional indemnity claims and related advisory work for insurers and professional services firms. You will manage a varied caseload, defend claims, and advise on regulatory issues while delivering high-quality outputs within SLAs. You will contribute to process improvements, support business development, and mentor junior colleagues, operating in a collaborative, inclusive culture with hybrid working. Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of professional indemnity claims
  • Defend liability claims pre- and post-litigation
  • Advise on regulatory issues, risk management, and Ombudsman complaints
  • Handle policy coverage issues for insurers
  • Work across a range of professions with diverse claim values
  • Deliver high-quality outputs in line with service levels
  • Contribute to development and improvement of team processes
  • Capture and collate management information for clients
  • Support business development and client relationship management
  • Coach and develop junior team members

Key requirements

  • Qualified lawyer
  • Professional indemnity litigation experience desirable
  • Strong knowledge of legal procedures and litigation processes
  • Ability to deliver legal and commercial solutions collaboratively
  • Proven track record of managing and developing client relationships
  • Commitment to business development and identifying commercial opportunities
  • Commercial mindset with awareness of pricing, resourcing, profitability
  • Leadership skills with experience coaching junior team members
  • Strong organisational skills and efficiency
