Technical Repair Coordinator

Overview

In this role you coordinate repair activities for rotating equipment at Sulzer’s Leeds Service Centre, linking inspection, production, suppliers and customers. You define repair scopes, cost estimates and ensure timely, safe delivery to high quality standards. You’ll work with engineers and operations to drive efficiency, process improvements and strong supplier relationships. This is a growth-focused opportunity as Sulzer expands its UK service network. You will contribute to reliability, reduced downtime and asset life extension through structured repair coordination.

Responsibilities

• Review inspection findings and prepare repair proposals
• Coordinate repair activities across internal and external suppliers
• Obtain quotations and cost estimates for repair scopes
• Produce repair sketches and technical documentation as needed
• Provide clear work instructions and timings to production
• Support supplier management and resolve technical queries
• Manage movement and storage of repair components
• Ensure SAP and related documentation is up to date
• Aid inspection activities, including incoming goods inspection and NDT
• Drive continuous improvement in repair processes and supplier performance
• Uphold Sulzer’s safety culture at all times

Key requirements

• Experience in a service, repair or manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of rotating equipment, pumps or related mechanical systems
• Time-served mechanical background or relevant engineering experience
• Commercial awareness and understanding of repair costing
• Experience using SAP or another ERP system
• Excellent planning, organizational and communication skills
• Ability to build relationships across multiple departments and external suppliers
• Proactive problem solver with strong attention to detail
