Overview

As Advance Manufacturing Systems Manager, drive the site’s automation and manufacturing IT strategy within a senior leadership role. You will shape and deliver cross-functional, automation-driven improvements that boost safety, quality, cost, delivery, and people capability. Your work spans NPI support, capital and low-cost automation, and lifecycle reliability, partnering with multiple functions to raise overall equipment effectiveness. You join a collaborative, innovation-focused culture and help Kohler Mira sustain growth across its market-leading brands. This is a high-impact role with a clear hook in advancing Industry 4.0 initiatives at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the site automation strategy and roadmap aligned to CI goals
  • Identify and prioritise automation opportunities across assembly, test, and material flow
  • Lead automation projects from concept through design, build, commissioning and handover
  • Ensure robust, scalable systems meeting performance requirements and safety/quality standards
  • Manage suppliers and integrators; own post-handover support
  • Integrate automation into NPI/NPD workflows; support product ramp-up and readiness
  • Drive OEE improvements through automation; embed TPM and diagnostic capabilities
  • Define standards for PLC, HMI, controls architecture; ensure regulatory compliance and lifecycle support
  • Develop and coach a team of controls and mechanical design associates; succession and capability building
  • Engage with cross-functional groups to align with productivity, cost reduction, and capability goals

Key requirements

  • 8+ years in a manufacturing/assembly automation leadership role
  • Experience with lean principles, automation, labour efficiency, capital planning, and industrialisation
  • NPI/NPD experience; knowledge of DFM/A principles
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Decision-making under time and cost pressure with delivery focus
  • Collaborative leadership and ability to influence across functions
  • Bachelor in Engineering (or equivalent) and relevant technical field
