Principal UX Designer, Alexa for Shopping

Overview

In this role you shape world-class, user-centered AI shopping experiences that go beyond current Alexa capabilities. You will lead cross-functional design efforts from concept to launch, partnering with science, editorial, and engineering teams to train content-generating models and craft intuitive interfaces. You translate business needs into compelling use cases and high-level customer experiences, balancing strategy with hands-on prototyping. You will drive design processes across the organization and mentor teams to deliver impactful, scalable features that delight customers at every touchpoint.

Responsibilities

• Create user-centered designs informed by research, market insights, data, and stakeholder feedback
• Collaborate with Science and Editorial teams to align LLM-generated content with design intent
• Lead design processes and refine strategic direction within the organization
• Translate business requirements into use cases and customer experience requirements
• Design interface and interaction flows for new features using Figma and rapid AI prototyping
• Develop and maintain detailed design specifications
• Present work to UX, product, engineering, leadership, and partners for review
• Develop high-level strategy for near- and long-term customer experiences

Key requirements

• 10+ years of design experience
• Available online portfolio
• Strong practices in UI Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design
• Experience delivering lifecycle design projects from strategy to execution
• Proficiency in prototyping with AI tools (plus general prototyping tools)
