Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer at IRIS, you will lead the delivery of complex full-stack web applications serving millions of users. You’ll shape architecture, mentor engineers, and drive commercially aware technical decisions within a fast-growing software group. Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable, multi-service systems and data pipelines
• Own large features across their lifecycle from concept to production
• Make commercially aware technical decisions balancing customer value and delivery timelines
• Lead architecture discussions and set engineering standards
• Drive architectural patterns, documentation, and knowledge transfer
• Collaborate with product, design and QA to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Lead AI-first practices and incorporate AI tooling in design, build and ship
• Mentor junior engineers and lead code reviews and risk assessment
• Drive continuous improvement and manage technical debt
• Oversee security practices and comprehensive reviews
• Lead troubleshooting for complex production issues and incidents
• Establish testing and quality governance practices
• Ensure team-wide development tooling and standards

Key requirements

• 5-7 years of professional software development experience
• Proven ability delivering complex, multi-system solutions
• Experience with highly scalable, internet-facing solutions
• Demonstrated technical leadership through architecture decisions and mentoring
• Active mentoring experience with junior and mid-level engineers
• Experience leading initiatives spanning multiple sprints or quarters
• Commercially aware and outcome-oriented mindset
• Strong communication skills for technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to coach others and lead cross-team collaboration
• AI-first mindset and experience integrating AI tools into workflows
