Overview
As a Vice President, you will support Morgan Stanley’s Global Economic Sanctions Programme and provide advisory and programmatic sanctions expertise across EMEA. You will collaborate with GFC, advise lines of business on sanctions risks, and help develop risk-based controls and training. You will monitor regulatory changes, coordinate risk assessments, and assist with regulatory exams and inquiries. This role shapes sanctions governance within a global financial crimes program, offering meaningful impact in a leading financial services firm.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, administration, and implementation of the Economic Sanctions Compliance Programme
- address sanctions queries from first line risk, business and operations groups
- communicate sanctions-related risks to lines of business; review sensitive client and transaction information; report and escalate results
- track regulatory changes and implement new procedures and enhanced due diligence
- advise on risk-based processes and controls for sanctions compliance
- develop and deliver sanctions training for internal audiences
- coordinate with Risk Assessment team on yearly Economic Sanctions Risk Assessments
- assist with regulatory exams and inquiries and oversee document productions
Key requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial institutions, law firms, or regulatory bodies
- detailed understanding of sanctions laws, rules, regulations, and best practices in EMEA, OFAC
- ability to assess complex transactions
- self-starter who can work independently and with a global program

- ACAMS AML certification or equivalent, or certification within 15 months of employment
