As Distinguished Technologist in Pre-Sales for AI and Data Center Networking, you shape high-impact, end-to-end networking solutions for AI/ML workloads in hyperscale environments. You will engage with hyperscalers, enterprises and partners to translate business needs into scalable architectures. Your thought leadership and hands-on expertise guide deal strategy, demos, and critical handoffs to delivery. Responsibilities

• Act as a primary technical architect in complex sales cycles, translating business needs into scalable networking solutions
• Architect end-to-end data center, AI networking, hyperscale, and WAN infrastructures
• Lead solution design with input from specialists, systems engineers, and product teams to meet customer requirements
• Deliver demos, proofs-of-concept, and technical presentations illustrating HPE Networking’s value in use cases
• Engage with hyperscalers, enterprises, service providers, and partners to co-design solutions
• Influence technical strategy throughout deal validation and initial execution
• Develop best practices, enablement collateral, and architecture playbooks to scale solutions
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior technologists and sales engineers
• Navigate complex technology transitions while maintaining thought leadership in networking innovations

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred
• 15+ years in network infrastructure architecture, design, and solutions consulting for large-scale AI/Cloud Data Center in hyperscale environments
• 15+ years’ industry experience with JunOS, EOS, IOS and hyperscale network frameworks; JNCIE or equivalent
• Hands-on expertise with hyperscale routing, MPLS TE, switching, SDN overlays (EVPN/VXLAN, MP-BGP), Network Fabrics, DCI, provisioning, automation, monitoring (Apstra, Paragon, NETCONF/REST APIs, YANG)
• Familiarity with silicon, hardware platforms and software (e.g., Juniper, Arista, Cisco, SONiC, Cumulus)
• SME in virtualization tech on x86 and scaling with DPDK, SR-IOV, SmartNICs
• Proven success in pre-sales with senior technical and C-Level stakeholder relationships
• Programming/scripting (Python, APIs, JSON) to enable solution integration and automation
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to influence diverse audiences
• Experience crafting RFP/tender responses, BOMs, pricing, and solution documents for bids
• Willingness to travel up to 50% (international on short notice)
