Technical Manager

Overview

As Technical Manager/Design Manager, you will lead design coordination for residential projects within a major house builder. You’ll report to the Technical Director and manage multiple projects from inception through completion, guiding the design process and multi-disciplinary teams. The role emphasizes proactive leadership, strong planning, and delivering value through efficient technical delivery. This is a growth role in a supportive, hardworking environment where your impact helps shape high-quality housing nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the design process across multiple residential projects
• Manage projects from inception to completion
• Plan and run design-related meetings with multi-discipline teams
• Demonstrate effective project management and document control
• Communicate progress and issues to stakeholders
• Coordinate with Planning, Building Regulations, NHBC Standards as needed
• Deliver residential traditional build projects with minimal supervision

Key requirements

• Qualified as an Architect or Civil/Building Engineer or construction-related degree level or HNC/HND in built environment
• 5+ years as Technical Manager in residential development or main contractor
• Experience delivering residential projects end-to-end
• Ability to run multiple projects concurrently
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Good knowledge of Planning Process, Building Regulations, NHBC Standards
• High level of computer literacy
