Overview
In this role you lead the Systems Engineering activity for evaluating the Mk0 Typhoon ESCAN radar maturity against FFP criteria, coordinating a cross-functional team and delivering maturity analyses for an FFP-aligned program. You will drive gap analyses, SysPR prioritisation, and compliance support, guiding on-train maturity reviews with internal and external stakeholders. You’ll present maturity results to senior leadership to shape the radar’s path to operational readiness and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
- Lead product gap analysis against operational scenarios
- Identify and sentence Problem Reports (SysPRs) and prioritise them
- Coordinate maturity assessment activities and deliver maturity reviews
- Support compliance statements against the Specification
- Plan and present maturity point reviews with stakeholders
- Identify gaps in product maturity and support SysPR sentencing
- Lead Systems Engineering activities for Mk0 radar maturity evaluation for Entry-Into-Service
- Oversee two software releases to deliver operational capability
Key requirements
- Radar Systems Design and/or Qualification at Lead Engineer level
- Familiarity with Pulsed Doppler radar waveform design and signal processing
- Familiarity with radar tracking and trade-offs with detection schemes
- Experience of certification to recognised standards including Integration, Test, Evaluation and Acceptance (ITEA)
- Experience of data analysis from radar flight trials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain SC security clearance and work within UKEO and US ITAR TAA restrictions
