As Engineering Lead at 9fin, you will scale a flagship platform that centralises credit data and workflows for global debt markets. You’ll guide a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, and data specialists to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions. You’ll shape technical direction, drive high-quality architecture, and mentor engineers to grow their impact. You join a fast-growing startup at an inflection point, helping us maintain reliability and accelerate product delivery. You’ll work closely with product and data teams to turn ambitious visions into tangible platform capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Build and guide a high-performing, cross-functional engineering team
• Lead technical design, code reviews, and architectural decisions
• Translate product visions into scalable, production-ready solutions
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and data teams to align priorities
• Coach senior engineers and expand technical ownership across the org
• Maintain deep understanding of system architecture, performance, and reliability
• Hire, onboard, and support engineering talent with one-on-one coaching

Key requirements

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering impactful products
• Deep technical expertise in software development and system design
• Experience with at least one core technology (Python, TypeScript, AWS, Terraform) and scalable system design
• Product- and design-oriented mindset with ability to translate needs into solutions
• Strong communication and collaboration across engineering, product, and design
• Commitment to operational excellence, long-term quality, and reliable systems
• Track record of shipping iteratively at a fast cadence
