Overview
In this role you will join a busy Exeter litigation team to manage a diverse employment caseload. You will handle contentious and non-contentious matters for employers and employees, with a focus on growth through developing new work and client relationships. The position offers a clear path to ownership of a developing practice area within a collaborative, supportive environment. Traveling to client meetings and events is part of the role, with opportunities to broaden your litigation skills. Responsibilities
- Manage own caseload across a broad range of employment matters (unfair/constructive/ wrongful dismissal; discrimination; whistleblowing)
- Advise on redundancy, disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Draft and negotiate settlement agreements, contracts, staff handbooks and policies
- Provide TUPE advice and HR advisory support
- Develop and maintain client relationships; contribute to business development and new work generation
- Attend meetings and marketing events across offices; travel as required
- Collaborate with a dynamic team and support the growth of the practice area
Key requirements
- 3–5 years’ post qualification experience
- Ability to manage own caseload independently
- Strong employment law background for both employers and employees
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and events
- Open to developing skills in other areas of litigation or bringing an existing client following
