As a Postdoctoral researcher, you will advance AI-enabled turbomachinery design by integrating machine learning with CFD to accelerate design exploration and optimization. You will collaborate with industrial sponsors to validate methods and demonstrate impact on energy and transportation turbomachinery. You will develop frameworks, run simulations, and contribute to publications and reports, shaping AI-driven engineering design at the intersection of academia and industry. This role offers exposure to high-impact, funded research with a strong team focus.

Responsibilities
- Undertake research in AI-enabled turbomachinery design, CFD and machine learning
- Develop and apply ML-based design frameworks for turbomachinery
- Conduct numerical simulations and analyse turbomachinery performance
- Prepare and process data for ML and CFD workflows
- Contribute to project reports, publications and presentations
- Engage with the industrial sponsor and participate in project meetings
Key requirements
- PhD in a relevant discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related)
- Strong background in one or more: machine learning, CFD, turbomachinery, fluid dynamics
- Track record of high-quality research publications in related fields
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work in both academic and industrial settings
