Senior / Principal Transport Planner

Overview

In this role you drive transport planning for major developments and international masterplans. You will lead technical delivery on Transport Assessments and Environmental Statements, while guiding active travel and sustainable transport strategies. You’ll work with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality advice, support knowledge growth, and shape transport solutions for development projects at a global scale.

Responsibilities

• Produce Transport Assessments and Environmental Statements for development planning projects
• Advise clients on active travel and sustainable transport opportunities
• Develop transport strategies and carry out technical analysis and modelling
• Contribute to on-site and off-site transport designs for development and street users
• Provide technical leadership and drive delivery excellence on projects
• Support innovation and professional growth of peers and junior colleagues
• Manage project delivery in terms of time, cost, and technical quality
• Collaborate with project teams and clients to align with objectives

Key requirements

• Experience delivering transport planning projects for development planning
• Ability to manage projects (time, cost, technical quality) as Project Manager
• Experience in transport planning and design for urban areas, development sites, and major destinations
• Proficiency in transport analysis, modelling and assessing future transport demands
• Experience applying transport design guidance (DMRB, Manual for Streets)
• Ability to develop and deliver transport strategies for multiple users
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and structured reporting
• Consultancy experience delivering planning applications
