Head of Finance System Transformation

Overview

In this role you lead the finance systems landscape, driving ERP and related systems to support efficiency, control and reporting. You’ll own the systems roadmap, govern data integrity and work with Finance, Technology and operations to deliver automation and transformation. You will manage a Finance Systems Analyst and partner with suppliers, auditors and stakeholders to ensure compliant, high‑quality financial processes. This is a strategic, hands‑on role that shapes how finance systems enable the organisation’s objectives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee access controls, licence management and master-data governance across ERP, FP&A and related systems
• Manage configuration changes, enhancements, risk mitigation and audit/compliance with financial-control requirements
• Develop and deliver a finance systems roadmap aligned to organisational strategy, identifying automation opportunities and efficiency improvements
• Lead system improvement projects from concept to delivery, including testing, deployment and stakeholder engagement
• Ensure day-to-day integrity of finance systems and support improvements to reporting, budgeting, forecasting and year-end processes
• Manage staff to drive efficiency and improvement
• Build relationships across Finance, Technology and operations; liaise with external vendors, consultants and auditors for smooth operations and compliance

Key requirements

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent with strong technical accounting knowledge
• Significant experience managing finance systems and leading system improvements
• Skilled in advanced Excel, Power BI, system integrations, automation, user stories, test scripts and UAT
• Proven ability to drive process improvement, lead transformation initiatives and influence stakeholders
• Strong communicator able to explain technical concepts clearly and build cross‑functional relationships
