Overview
In this role you will lead the development of a dedicated IP practice within a well-established London law firm. You will leverage the firm’s client base and your own network to build a durable IP offering across trade marks, copyrights, design rights, patents, licensing, and disputes. You’ll work within a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture and help the firm scale its IP capabilities. The position offers flexible working and a strong focus on practice growth and client development.

Responsibilities
- Develop and lead an IP practice spanning trademarks, copyrights/design rights, patents, licensing, brand protection, portfolio management and IP disputes/enforcement
- Provide transactional support including licensing, JVs, M&A, and technology transfers
- Leverage existing client base and build new client relationships to grow the practice
- Drive strategic growth initiatives and practice management for IP
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated IP solutions
- Position the firm as a trusted IP partner for clients in trade markets and technology sectors
Key requirements
- 9+ PQE England & Wales qualified solicitor
- existing partner or ambitious senior associate/director seeking partnership
- at least 9 years UK IP experience
- entrepreneurial outlook with a plan to build a practice
- some form of client following
