Overview
In this role you lead engineering and maintenance for Norfolk Vanguard Offshore Wind Farm and onshore assets, shaping the site engineering strategy and asset integrity programme. You drive reliability, availability and energy output while managing safety, budgets and CAPEX. You will lead cross-functional teams, contractors and suppliers to deliver safe, timely, and cost-effective engineering upgrades. This position offers the chance to influence long-term asset performance and contribute to scalable offshore wind operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for offshore and onshore engineering and maintenance activities
- Develop and implement the site engineering strategy aligned with business goals
- Own the asset integrity programme for turbines, foundations, electrical systems, offshore substations and balance of plant
- Improve reliability and energy production via root cause analysis of major issues
- Lead engineering projects, plant modifications and upgrades from concept to execution
- Manage engineering and maintenance contracts, procurement support, warranties, budgets and CAPEX planning
- Ensure compliance with UK legislation, standards and governance
- Develop the engineering team and serve as the technical interface to internal teams, suppliers and regulators
Key requirements
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Marine or Renewable Energy Engineering
- Chartered Engineer or active progress towards professional registration
- Significant leadership in offshore wind, power generation or asset-intensive industries
- Experience managing engineering/maintenance for large-scale assets
- Knowledge of asset integrity management and lifecycle planning
- Experience with engineering contracts, vendors, budgets and CAPEX
- Knowledge of UK offshore safety legislation and industry standards
- Experience with SAP or CMMS and strong stakeholder communication
