Affordable Housing Development Valuations

Overview

In this role you advise on affordable housing valuation, development consultancy and viability, taking ownership of technical work and leading client instructions. You will work within a growing team to strengthen affordable housing valuation advisory capabilities and contribute to major residential-led and mixed-use projects. You’ll balance hands-on analysis with coordinating multidisciplinary input to deliver commercially viable outcomes. This position offers ownership, client exposure and the opportunity to shape development viability and valuation strategy in a collaborative setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial viability assessments for residential-led and mixed-use developments
• Perform technical affordable housing valuations and provide clear valuation advice
• Advise on affordable housing and Section 106 matters
• Provide commercial viability advice on major residential-led, mixed-use and regeneration projects
• Advise developers and landowners through feasibility, design and planning
• Produce Red Book valuation reports when required
• Support clients through planning and viability negotiations for deliverable outcomes
• Lead client instructions and coordinate input from multidisciplinary teams

Key requirements

• MRICS qualification
• Registered Valuer status or extensive valuation experience
• Strong knowledge of affordable housing valuation and translating requirements into technical advice
• Strong knowledge of development appraisal, viability and valuation
• Knowledge of residential, mixed-use and affordable housing markets
• Proficient Argus Developer and Excel modelling
• Experience producing technical valuations and Red Book reports
• Experience on major regeneration or development projects
• Ability to lead instructions and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
• Confident written reporting, negotiation and client management
• Experience advising both public and private sector clients
• Associate Director level: client development, fee generation, tenders and work-winning capability
