Senior AI & Automation Engineer

Overview

In this role you lead the design and delivery of automation, IaC, and AI-powered solutions across Azure and OCI. You set technical direction, mentor engineers, and promote an AI-first, automation-first culture within Cloud Operations. You work to automate provisioning, improve resilience, and accelerate secure, repeatable deployments with scalable CI/CD. This is a chance to shape how automation and AI uplift product reliability and customer outcomes at Klipboard.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of complex automation, IaC, and AI-enabled solutions across Azure and OCI
• Create reusable automation frameworks and engineering patterns for scalability and efficiency
• Drive AI-first approaches to enhance service delivery and operations
• Automate provisioning to reduce manual effort and improve resilience
• Design and maintain IaC solutions for secure, reliable deployments
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines for automated, compliant deployments
• Embed security, identity management, and secrets handling by design
• Improve system resilience and recovery capabilities through automation
• Implement FinOps practices to optimise cloud costs via automation
• Provide technical leadership and act as SME for automation, cloud, and AI initiatives
• Mentor engineers and develop automation/AI capabilities across Cloud Operations
• Lead knowledge-sharing activities, code reviews, and training to promote best practices
• Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate and optimise cloud, automation, and AI tooling
• Champion security, compliance, and data protection across automation solutions
• Contribute to continuous improvement and strategic direction of automation and AI capabilities
• Foster a collaborative, innovative culture and support decision-making on engineering matters
• Ensure automation aligns with security, governance, and operational standards

Key requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience
• Extensive hands-on automation and scripting across multiple languages
• Advanced IaC experience across Azure and OCI (Terraform, Bicep)
• Proven design and delivery of complex CI/CD and automation solutions
• Experience building and operating AI / LLM-assisted tooling or agents
• Strong grasp of security, identity (Microsoft Entra / IAM) and secrets management
• Understanding of resilience, DR and recovery objectives (RTO/RPO, failover)
• Track record of mentoring engineers and leading technical work
