Overview

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you design, develop and maintain software for real-time and Linux-based platforms in our mechatronics-driven product range. You’ll contribute to both new development and ongoing maintenance, improving performance and reliability. You join a global R&D team that delivers high‑quality industrial equipment. This role blends hands‑on embedded work with collaboration across software, electronics and product teams to shape next‑generation printers and labelers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test and maintain embedded software for real-time and Linux-based platforms, including low-level drivers and hardware interfaces
  • Improve performance, reliability and maintainability of existing and future products
  • Contribute to New Product Development and maintenance of existing products, including defect fixes and feature additions
  • Operate in an Agile development environment with planning, estimation, reviews and continuous improvement
  • Create clear technical documentation to support design, testing, release and long-term support
  • Take ownership of assigned work with attention to detail and sound engineering judgment

Key requirements

  • Strong embedded software design and development experience in C or C++ on real-time or embedded Linux
  • Experience with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS) on Cortex-M microcontrollers
  • Experience with embedded Linux layers: kernel, drivers, bootloaders, user-space
  • Experience with WinCE embedded systems
  • Familiarity with build toolchains (GCC, Make, CMake, Buildroot)
  • Problem-solving and debugging skills with tools like Trace32 or GDB
  • Experience with development tools (Visual Studio, Eclipse, Git, GitHub, Jira)
  • Openness to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude)
  • Good communication and cross-team collaboration skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS/Software/Electrical/Electronics or related field
