Overview

As an Electrical Engineer in our Scotland Water Team, you support the delivery of electrical and ICA designs for water and wastewater projects. You work within a multidisciplinary group to shape sustainable, high-impact infrastructure and contribute to large-scale programmes like the SR27 Enterprise. You analyse feasibility, develop designs, and prepare client deliverables while collaborating with civil, process, and mechanical engineers. You engage in site surveys and design reviews to ensure safety, standards, and value. This role blends technical problem-solving with cross-team collaboration in a dynamic, hybrid setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design and construction support
  • Design and review electrical and ICA elements in water/wastewater infrastructure projects (e.g., chemical dosing, pumping stations, sludge treatment)
  • Produce and review client deliverables (calculations, drawings, technical reports)
  • Collaborate with water discipline teams (civil, electrical, process, mechanical)
  • Visit sites for surveys and liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers
  • Attend and contribute to design reviews (HAZOPs, HAZIDs, SWIFTs)

Key requirements

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Progress towards Chartered Engineer status (e.g., IET)
  • Proven ability to deliver designs, reports, drawings, specifications, and calculations
  • Hands-on experience delivering water and wastewater engineering projects
