Overview

As Real Estate Litigation Associate, you will join a national team in Newcastle handling a broad range of property disputes for corporate occupiers, landlords and telecoms clients. You’ll develop expertise across lease renewals, of dilapidations, and landlord-tenant issues, while benefiting from a supportive structure with experienced lawyers and real estate paralegal support. The role offers hybrid working and opportunities to collaborate across offices and with the wider Real Estate practice. You’ll contribute to growth of the team by delivering high-quality client service and building lasting relationships. Responsibilities

  • Advising on a broad range of commercial property disputes for corporate occupiers, landlords and clients
  • Handling opposed and unopposed 1954 Act lease renewals
  • Advising on contractual and statutory notices in property disputes
  • Managing dilapidations disputes and settlements
  • Advising on asset management, landlord and tenant disputes
  • Dealing with forfeiture, possession, rent arrears and landlord remedies including CRAR
  • Advising on restrictive covenants, break options, rights of way and boundary disputes
  • Handling trespass, nuisance and other commercial property disputes
  • Developing telecoms property litigation experience with major operators
  • Managing own matters and prioritising high-quality client service
  • Working with transactional Real Estate team on property deals and development
  • Building relationships with clients and contributing to practice growth

Key requirements

  • English & Welsh Qualified Solicitor with 2+ PQE in Real Estate Litigation
  • Experience in lease renewals, dilapidations, landlord and tenant disputes, forfeiture, possession, rent arrears or property-related litigation
  • Strong technical ability with practical, commercial approach
  • Ability to take ownership of matters while knowing when to seek support
  • Positive, collaborative approach to working with colleagues and clients
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
