Senior Process Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Process Engineer at Stantec, you will lead process engineering deliverables for water and wastewater projects across the UK, working with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, scalable solutions. You’ll own technical work packages, perform design calculations and assessments, and contribute to innovation and continuous improvement. The role blends hands-on technical delivery with mentoring and client engagement, within a collaborative, growth-focused environment. Responsibilities

• Develop process engineering solutions for water and wastewater projects
• Perform process calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments and treatment process evaluations
• Develop and review technical reports, specifications, calculations and other deliverables
• Take ownership of technical work packages ensuring quality and timely delivery
• Support process design from concept through detailed design and construction support
• Contribute to site investigations, asset assessments, optimization studies and workshops
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and environmental engineers to create integrated solutions
• Engage with clients and project teams to translate requirements into practical engineering solutions
• Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to team development
• Contribute to technical innovation and best practice across Process Engineering

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in Chemical or Process Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience in process engineering within water, wastewater, utilities or related sectors
• Practical experience in process design, calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments and/or treatment process evaluation
• Good understanding of water and/or wastewater treatment processes and engineering principles
• Experience taking ownership of technical tasks within multidisciplinary projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage own workload and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
