Director of Fire Engineering

Overview

You will lead the UK Fire Life Safety business from London, turning an established platform into a significant growth engine. You’ll own the strategy, P&L, and revenue growth while shaping client relationships and building a high-performing team. Collaborating with senior technical leadership, you’ll balance commercial leadership with deep Fire Engineering credibility to deliver complex projects. This is a rare, entrepreneurial opportunity within a respected international firm. You’ll drive impact across markets and potentially extend influence beyond London.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of developing the UK Fire Life Safety business from London
• Manage P&L, grow revenue and profitability
• Strengthen existing client relationships and open new ones
• Build and lead the required team to support growth
• Develop and implement market strategy with autonomy on how to achieve targets
• Collaborate with senior technical leadership while focusing on strategic, commercial and leadership aspects
• Represent the Fire Engineering business at senior client level
• Identify opportunities across sectors and leverage wider international capability to create new business

Key requirements

• Chartered Engineer status
• Strong background in Fire Engineering / Fire Life Safety consultancy
• Proven track record of winning and developing work
• Established relationships in London and wider UK built environment
• Experience with architects, developers, project managers, end users and multidisciplinary design teams
• Commercial understanding including revenue forecasting and P&L responsibility
• Experience building, leading and developing teams
• Ability to represent the business at senior client level
