Overview

As Billing Analyst, you ensure accurate invoicing across Baker McKenzie offices worldwide and support timely client billing aligned with firm policies. You will collaborate with global teams to resolve issues, implement process improvements, and analyze billing data to guide decisions. This role focuses on efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in a dynamic, cross‑border environment. You will contribute to operational excellence and leverage AI tools to boost productivity and decision‑making.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and finalize invoices per firm policies
  • Process time transfers, cost transfers, write-offs, and billing adjustments
  • Manage billing matters from start to finish with proactive follow-up
  • Maintain client billing information and instructions
  • Prioritize work, identify issues, and escalate exceptions
  • Collaborate with Billing & Collections, functional leads, partners, and assistants globally
  • Identify and resolve billing issues and support process improvements
  • Analyze billing data to inform decisions and improve service delivery
  • Contribute to operational excellence by identifying efficiency opportunities
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Liberal Arts, or related field (preferred)
  • Advanced English communication (written and verbal)
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel; strong Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Previous billing experience preferred; other Finance function experience considered
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and with a global team
  • Proactive ownership and accountability; willingness to escalate issues
  • Continuous improvement mindset; identify process efficiencies
