Overview

As Lead Resident Engineer (Electrical Bias) on a prestigious London site for JLL, you lead the engineering presence and ensure high standards of safety, compliance, and service. You will blend hands-on technical work with strong client engagement and responsible maintenance leadership. On-site you’ll drive planned and reactive maintenance, monitor performance, and guide others to deliver reliable building services. This role offers impact through improving reliability and customer satisfaction in a high-profile property.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the on-site lead engineer and main point of contact for engineering matters
  • Foster strong client and stakeholder relationships to ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Deliver planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs across electrical and building services
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regs, health and safety, and company procedures
  • Coordinate specialist subcontractors to meet quality and performance standards
  • Monitor plant/equipment performance and identify reliability improvements
  • Assist with technical reporting, audits, risk assessments, and permit-to-work processes
  • Manage engineering documentation and accurate maintenance records in CAFM systems
  • Provide technical guidance to fellow engineers on site as needed (no direct line management)
  • Promote a proactive maintenance culture focused on service excellence and continuous improvement

Key requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
  • Experience in Facilities Management, Building Services, or Commercial Maintenance environments
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, infrastructure, and statutory compliance
  • Multi-skilled experience with mechanical/building services is desirable
  • Experience as lead/senior engineer coordinating site activities
  • Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in client-facing roles and stakeholder relationship management
  • Experience using CAFM systems and producing maintenance reports
  • Excellent understanding of safe systems of work, permits, and compliance
