Financial Controller – PBSUK

Overview

In this role you lead the PBSUK finance team to ensure accurate financial statements and provide actionable insights to support business goals. You will drive timely management reporting, deep-dive profitability analysis, and robust cash flow forecasting while partnering with the business and Group finance to standardize processes. The position focuses on improving decision making through better margin visibility and financial controls, with the Finance Director as your deputy. You will shape financial planning, reporting and commercial support at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop teams delivering management accounts, statutory accounts, budgets and forecasts, plus ad hoc reports
• Oversee transactional processing (AP/AR) and drive process improvements for timeliness and quality
• Own P&L and Balance Sheet for PBSUK and associated entities, with robust support for the ledger
• Provide commercial insights through KPI reporting, variance analysis and stakeholder presentations
• Develop and implement robust financial controls, reconciliations, and cost governance
• Advance automation and use of systems to enhance control and efficiency
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies, including revenue recognition
• Coordinate with Group finance and manage intercompany recharges and VAT/compliance tasks
• Partner with PBSUK management to support forecasting, budgeting, and performance measurement
• Lead recruitment, development plans and performance management for the team

Key requirements

• ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualification
