Overview

In this role you will maintain and optimise processing and packaging equipment to keep Holbeach operations safe, smooth and efficient. You’ll work with operations to diagnose faults, complete repairs and support continuous improvement, ensuring high-quality, reliable performance for customers. You will contribute to improvements that boost uptime, safety and profitability in a fast-paced, high-volume site. This is a hands-on role in a leading food manufacturing business with strong development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and carry out maintenance on food processing and packaging equipment
  • Conduct planned and predictive maintenance to optimise performance and reduce downtime
  • Respond to breakdowns and implement corrective actions
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, automation and pneumatic faults
  • Support machinery changeovers, set-ups and adjustments for operations
  • Manufacture or repair component parts to maintain equipment reliability
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects and technical performance reviews
  • Identify and implement engineering solutions to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and engineering documentation
  • Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are available, safe and well maintained

Key requirements

  • Level 2 Maths/English
  • recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (C&G/EAL NVQ 3/4 or OAL FDEM)
  • Ability to complete IET Wiring Regs in year one
  • Level 2 Food Safety, CMMS and contractor control training in year one
  • Multiskilled capability with an electrical bias
  • Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of SHE procedures
  • Experience in fault finding, maintenance planning, IT systems and working to SOPs
  • Mechanical/electrical knowledge including hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, PLCs and sensors
  • Understanding of asset performance and spare parts management
