Maintenance Engineer

Overview

In this role you will support site operations by delivering a structured preventative maintenance programme. You will work closely with the maintenance planner to optimise weekly schedules and review asset maintenance plans, ensuring timely interventions. You’ll coordinate access and parts, perform fault finding and repairs, and apply best practices to reduce repeat failures. This position offers hands-on responsibility in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing setting with a clear impact on plant reliability and production performance.

Responsibilities

• Optimize weekly maintenance schedule with the maintenance planner
• Review maintenance plans for individual assets
• Coordinate plant access with production and maintenance teams
• Source required parts via engineering stores for maintenance activities
• Execute maintenance interventions as directed by the planner/manager
• Perform fault finding and repairs on plant equipment and minimize repeat failures

Key requirements

• Recognised apprenticeship (multi-skilled with PLC fault finding knowledge)
• Preferably HNC qualified (C&G acceptable)
• Good verbal, literacy and numerical skills
• Experience in a production/manufacturing role, preferably FMCG
• Experience of working to targets within a production environment (advantage)
