Overview

In this Cyber Security Manager role, you will act as a trusted advisor to clients, shaping robust security postures and leading cyber transformation. You’ll assess current states, identify vulnerabilities, and design tailored solutions aligned with business objectives and risk appetite. As a senior team member, you’ll build stakeholder relationships, translate complex security concepts, and drive pragmatic security strategies and roadmaps. Your work contributes to defence and security programs through thought leadership and hands-on risk-based delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client engagements by aligning security solutions with business objectives and risk tolerance
  • Conduct workshops and presentations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Perform cyber security assessments including vulnerability analysis, architecture reviews, and risk analysis
  • Utilise frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, CAF to benchmark client posture
  • Develop pragmatic, cost-effective security solutions covering people, processes, and technology
  • Provide guidance on security architectures, technologies, and best practices
  • Assist clients in shaping cyber security strategy aligned with goals and risk appetite
  • Create actionable roadmaps prioritising initiatives by risk and business impact
  • Support incident response planning and business continuity testing
  • Contribute to thought leadership through white papers, presentations, and blogs
  • Provide specialist technical advice and identify controls that meet client objectives
  • Stay informed on threats and industry best practices and recommend improvements

Key requirements

  • Active (or eligible for) UK Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance
  • Information Security qualification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CRISC, GSEC)
  • In-depth knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, CAF)
  • Experience in Cyber/Information security within Defence/Security with focus on at least one domain (Land, Air, Maritime, Space, Cyberspace)
  • Experience in Defensive Cyber Operations with specialization (monitoring, network operations, IR/M, Threat Intelligence, Vulnerability Management or Cyber Operations)
  • Experience with Government organisations and handling assets subject to Government Security Classification Policy
  • Experience in threat and risk modelling
  • Strong understanding of network security, encryption, authentication, and access control
  • Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability tools and their configuration
  • Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or Google)
  • Experience researching technology trends and securing new tech
  • Working knowledge of Government cyber requirements (JSPs)
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building
  • Clear communication to both technical and non-technical audiences
