Overview
In this hands-on leadership role you drive automation testing across critical applications, building and maintaining robust test automation frameworks. You will lead a small team of automation engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and influence the performance and quality of software through well-structured test plans. Expect to design, execute, and optimize functional, system, integration, end-to-end, and security tests, while contributing to the strategy and recruitment efforts. This role offers a chance to shape testing approaches, scale automation, and ensure timely bug fixes in a security-conscious environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead a small test automation team and provide technical direction
- Design, implement, and maintain automation scenarios to identify bottlenecks and improvement areas
- Conduct functional, system, integration, end-to-end, and security testing using automation frameworks
- Analyze test results to propose optimizations and fixes
- Design and run performance tests using tools like JMeter and LoadRunner
- Collaborate with senior colleagues and product teams to ensure timely bug fixes
- Contribute to Performance Test Strategy and process improvements
- Participate in leadership activities and recruitment processes
Key requirements
- 8-10 years of hands-on test automation experience
- Proficiency with automation tools (Karate, Eggplant Functional)
- Experience with API, system, security, and UI test scripting
- Knowledge of middleware/messaging systems (Kafka, IBM MQ, ACE)
- Scripting skills (Python, JavaScript)
- Familiarity with application monitoring tools (Control-M)
- Experience with API testing tools (SOAP UI, Postman)
- Experience with performance testing and existing maintenance test packs
