Overview
In this role you will lead the design and specification of fire protection solutions, focusing on firefighting systems for varied projects. You’ll act as a key technical contact, guiding surveys, reports, and day-to-day project management within a consultancy setting. Responsibilities
- Prepare design packages for RIBA stages 1–7, including drawings, specifications and hydraulic calculations
- Develop Fire Suppression Systems solutions for diverse building and industrial contexts
- Perform calculations for sprinkler water supplies and gas suppression quantities
- Lead remote project delivery teams
- Prepare fee proposals for fire systems design at RIBA stages 1–7
- Conduct technical reviews
- Assist in resolving design problems through field investigations or inspections
- Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, authorities, contractors and third parties
- Project manage delivery of projects of varying scale
Key requirements
- Intermediate-level written and oral communication skills
- Strong quantitative and analytical abilities
- Relevant degree or professional qualification
- Experience in a consultancy or similar business
- Knowledge of British and International design standards and Building regulations
- Experience with Fire Suppression Systems (sprinklers, water mist, gaseous, foam, etc.) and related systems
- Familiarity with design software (Word, Excel, CAD, REVIT, hydraulics software)
