Overview

As Contract Manager you will oversee complex, high-value contracts (up to 500M) from negotiation through delivery, ensuring robust commercial governance and value for money. You will engage with stakeholders across projects, lead on change and dispute resolution, and support procurement to deliver world-class commercial service. The role combines on-site collaboration with strong governance to drive project goals in the energy sector. You’ll work within a growing Controls & Performance team focused on delivering better programme outcomes and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate contract terms for high-value projects (20M–500M) and manage the delivery phase
  • Negotiate prices and substantiate value-for-money
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and influence across projects; resolve disputes
  • Manage cost, forecast reporting, and change control procedures
  • Oversee post-contract commercial management including compensation events
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies and promote safe working practices
  • Support Procurement and Commercial Manager in delivering procurement excellence
  • Draft and interpret commercial contracts and manage variation/change processes

Key requirements

  • Significant experience in contract management (energy sector preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • MCIPS qualification preferred but not essential
  • Strong experience in contract change and claims management
  • Experience with NEC and FIDIC contracts
  • Financial analysis and reporting for project budgets
  • Knowledge of governance processes for large capital projects
