Programme Manager

Overview

In this Programme Manager role, you will turn strategic priorities from Wellcome’s Solutions programmes into deliverable plans that enable impactful delivery. You’ll sit in the Strategy Integration team and work with cross-functional teams to translate priorities, manage progress, risks and dependencies, and strengthen alignment across the organisation. You will connect research, policy and engagement with delivery, using data and learning to inform decisions and adapt strategies. This is a chance to shape how Wellcome translates ambitious health and wellbeing goals into tangible outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Translate strategic priorities into clear programme plans, milestones, and accountabilities
• Coordinate delivery by managing milestones, risks, dependencies, budgets, and resource planning
• Monitor progress, identify emerging issues, and use evidence to inform decisions
• Connect work across research, policy, engagement and other functions to enable collaboration
• Design and facilitate planning sessions, workshops, and reviews to improve ways of working
• Provide coordination, insight, and structure to help programmes adapt as priorities evolve

Key requirements

• Significant experience managing complex programmes, projects or portfolios with multiple stakeholders and interdependencies
• Experience translating strategic objectives into delivery plans and measurable outcomes
• Experience identifying and mitigating programme risks, dependencies and delivery challenges
• Evidence of building effective working relationships and influencing across functions without direct reporting lines
• Experience using data and programme metrics to inform prioritisation and decision-making
