Overview
In this role you will lead civil engineering across the lifecycle of major water and wastewater projects, from concept through commissioning. You will align civil design with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient solutions that meet client aims. You’ll influence delivery through technical checks, process improvements, and mentoring the civil team, within a collaborative, cross-functional environment. Responsibilities
- Lead the design, planning and execution of civil engineering on projects
- Provide design support and ensure designs meet legislation and standards
- Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams for practical solutions
- Engage with clients and manage relationships with a one-team approach
- Manage interfaces and integration of civil design with other disciplines
- Act as technical checker and conduct technical reviews
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes and introduce standard designs and digital tools
- Undertake site reviews to ensure buildability and system integration
- Support development of the civil engineering team through mentoring and resource planning
Key requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Chartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in civil engineering including hydraulic and concrete structure design
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Experience delivering outputs to design, quality and safety standards
- Effective communication with team members and stakeholders
- Willingness to travel to sites across the operational region
