Software Development Engineer, AWS Security

Overview

In this role you help build and operate scalable security services that detect and mitigate threats across the AWS ecosystem. You collaborate with security engineers, data scientists, and other engineers to deliver proactive protections for customers at massive scale. You’ll use AWS services to architect resilient, observable systems and drive operational excellence, all while contributing to an inclusive team culture. This position offers meaningful impact by strengthening security controls and reducing customer risk.

Responsibilities

• Leverage AWS technologies (Lambda, Kinesis, DynamoDB, etc.) to solve security problems at scale
• Raise the bar for architecture, development practices, and fault tolerance
• Share ownership of operational excellence with proper alarms and monitoring
• Design and implement automated security detections and mitigation workflows
• Collaborate with data scientists and security engineers
• Support on-call rotations and incident root-cause analysis
• Mentor teammates and advocate for new technologies
• Contribute to “working backwards” processes to simplify customer experiences

Key requirements

• Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
• Experience designing/architecting scalable and reliable systems
• Experience in software development with Java, C#, Python, or Rust (TypeScript a plus)
• Experience with Linux-based development
• Experience working with backend systems that process large datasets (e.g., logs, telemetry)
