Cost Manager – Data Centre

Overview

In this Cost Management role, you deliver robust cost control and value engineering for data centre projects. You will work with clients and cross-functional teams to lead cost management efforts across all project stages. You will shape cost plans, procurement and post-contract activities to drive value and efficiency. Responsibilities

• Support feasibility studies and procurement reports
• Prepare cost estimates and cost plans, including final cost plans
• Manage tendering and procurement activities, including pre-qualification, tender analysis, and reporting
• Manage post-contract cost variations and change control processes
• Conduct cost checks and valuations for accuracy
• Produce and present monthly post-contract cost reports
• Contribute to value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives
• Negotiate and agree final accounts
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders across all stages
• Lead cost management teams to ensure high-quality service
• Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and support business growth
• Assist in preparing bid documentation
• Improve cost management procedures, templates, and services
• Ensure key project information and lessons learned are captured in knowledge systems
• Monitor financial performance using FMS
• Identify and escalate opportunities for process improvement
• Review commission management quality and operational efficiency

Key requirements

• Degree or equivalent in Cost Management / Quantity Surveying
• Chartered with the RICS, or equivalent
• Strong measurement and cost planning expertise (NRM2)
• JCT / NEC / FIDIC experience
• Commercially astute with good negotiation skills
