Senior Manager – Credit Risk Analytics

Overview

In this role, you lead a five-strong analytics team within the second-line risk function to shape advanced credit risk analytics. You drive direction, prioritisation and delivery of analytics work, modernising risk data usage through scalable dashboards and Python-driven automation. You will stay hands-on technically while guiding stakeholders and coaching the team. This is a strategic, impact-focused leadership position in a major banking risk function.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of five data analysts
• Set priorities for the credit risk analytics capability
• Own intake and prioritisation of analytics requirements across Risk
• Partner with senior Risk and business stakeholders
• Translate requirements into scoped analytic solutions
• Develop scalable Power BI dashboards and reporting
• Automate data preparation and analysis with Python
• Identify and replace manual processes to improve efficiency
• Ensure outputs provide clear and relevant risk insight
• Manage competing priorities and stakeholder relationships
• Support the risk analytics framework and ensure regulatory alignment

Key requirements

• Experience leading analytics teams in banking/financial services
• Strong knowledge of banking risk data (credit risk, portfolio analytics, risk reporting)
• Practical experience designing and delivering Power BI dashboards
• Experience using Python for automation of analytics or reporting
• Willingness to remain hands-on while leading a team
• Strong senior stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to prioritise, direct and develop new ideas independently
• Proven coaching and mentoring track record
• History of delivering analytics solutions that improve efficiency or decision-making
• Stable progression in permanent roles
• Background from bank or consultancy with banking client delivery
