Overview

In this role you lead electrical due diligence and feasibility for data centre sites across EMEA, shaping early-stage development and grid connection strategies. You work with cross-disciplinary teams to align technical findings with client objectives and project timelines. You’ll communicate complex electrical issues to stakeholders and advise on TSO/DSO risks and connection agreements. The role blends technical leadership with strategic client advisory in a fast-growing, sustainability-focused firm.

Responsibilities

  • Lead due diligence projects for potential data centre sites across EMEA
  • Assess electrical connection risks and design requirements during site selection
  • Manage feasibility studies and provide strategic input on Electrical Grid Connections to Data Centres
  • Develop project plans (discipline scopes, schedules, budgets) for early-stage development
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams (environmental, engineering, planning)
  • Ensure projects meet site acquisition objectives
  • Act as primary client contact during due diligence and planning phases
  • Communicate complex technical issues clearly to stakeholders
  • Provide strategic advice on connection agreements and TSO/DSO risks

Key requirements

  • Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Be working towards or willing to work towards a CEng
  • Knowledge of electrical industrial connection agreements and ability to advise clients on TSO/DSO risks
  • Excellent project management skills (budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation)
  • Understanding of electrical codes and regulations impacting data centres
  • LV and HV power distribution design
  • Load calculations
  • Knowledge of earthing/grounding systems
  • UPS, generators, and renewable integration (advantage)
  • Ability to interpret technical reports and translate findings into actionable strategies
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Familiarity with data centre development processes and infrastructure planning (plus)
  • Experience leading electrical design on complex projects
  • Ethical approach and alignment with company ethics guidelines
