Overview

In this Design Engineer role, you’ll contribute to the in-house Wastewater Networks Design Team, shaping civil engineering solutions for wastewater infrastructure. You’ll work with cross-functional colleagues to assess options, create coordinated design deliverables, and support investment and delivery decisions. The position offers growth toward chartered status within a values-driven, inclusive environment that prioritizes safety and environmental impact. You’ll tackle practical, sustainable designs that address CSO performance and network improvements, with meaningful project scale and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Support feasibility, optioneering and outline design for wastewater projects including CSO performance improvements
  • Explore engineering options to identify safe, practical and sustainable solutions
  • Develop innovative wastewater concepts (e.g., SuDS) with hydraulic performance considerations
  • Produce civil designs, calculations, drawings, specs and reports for wastewater assets
  • Collaborate with contractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver buildable, maintainable solutions
  • Embed Health and Safety considerations throughout the design lifecycle

Key requirements

  • Degree-qualified (desirable)
