Overview
In this role, you will own the Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS) and lead quality assurance across the business while shaping skills, training and competency management. You will partner with senior management and cross‑functional teams to drive continual improvement, audits and assurance programmes. The position combines practical QA delivery with strategic process enhancement and digitalisation to support successful project delivery. You will operate in a hands‑on, influential capacity to raise quality standards and compliance across the organisation. Responsibilities
- Lead the Quality Assurance function and IQMS across the business
- Maintain and continually improve quality processes in line with objectives
- Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification
- Oversee internal and external audits, inspections and testing regimes
- Assist with external accreditations and assurance requirements (Achilles Building Confidence, RISQS, SSIP, PQQ submissions, digital assurance platforms)
- Coordinate management reviews and promote risk-based assurance
- Ensure quality and compliance embedded across departments
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and drive process mapping and automation
- Support digital systems development for assurance processes
- Collaborate with Engineering & Operations to support delivery, investigate non-conformances and root cause analysis
- Provide practical quality support to operational teams
- Lead skills, training and competency management with HR/Learning & Development
- Monitor skills, qualifications and training attainment; identify gaps
- Engage with pre-construction and operations to address skills requirements and client/stakeholder expectations
- Support projects with skills commitments and community objectives
Key requirements
- Experience in Quality Assurance, HSEQ or Management Systems within construction, engineering or infrastructure
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Autonomous, able to manage priorities and work independently
- Digitally confident with a passion for technology and process improvement
- Committed to continual improvement and implementing better ways of working
- Strong communicator and relationship builder
- Practical problem solver comfortable with senior stakeholders and site teams
