Site Engineer and Senior Engineer – Civils – Midlands

Overview

In this role you will lead technical delivery and site coordination for civil and infrastructure works within a major regional contractor. You’ll own safety, quality, programme, and commercial aspects for your project section, delivering on-site sets of works. You’ll contribute to a variety of highways-focused schemes and support cross-functional teams to meet deadlines. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape on-site execution in a main contractor environment with clear progression potential.

Responsibilities

• Set out civil engineering and building works across project sites
• Ensure quality control aligns with specifications and records are kept
• Promote and maintain high health, safety and environmental standards
• Plan, schedule and organise on-site activities to meet deadlines
• Attend progress meetings with Section Engineer/Sub Agent/Site Agent and report on progress
• Interpret drawings and specifications; read technical documents
• Calculate quantities and understand construction measurement methods
• Request materials and manage plant/equipment
• Contribute to method statements, inspection & test plans, and risk assessments; ensure compliance
• Comply with the company’s Business Management System (BMS)

Key requirements

• HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering
• Experience as an Engineer on civil projects for a main contractor (per role)
• Sound knowledge of construction methods and regulatory requirements
• Valid CSCS card
• Experience levels aligned to role: Site Engineer 2–3 years; Senior Engineer 6–7 years; Sub Agent 8–9 years
